Achilles Motorsports Driver Kevin Ogrodnik BMWCCA National Champion 2014

Achilles Motorsports is proud to congratulate Kevin Ogrodnik on his accomplishments with BMWCCA Club Racing program this year. After all the brake dust had settled, the seasons points were tallied, Kevin emerged the BMWCCA I-Prepared National Champion.

The BMWCCA I-Prepared Class was the largest class fielded during the 2014 season. It is based on mild engine modifications with limitations on engine internals, mandated use of a stock ECU, and very strict aero allowances. This makes for some tough competition and very close racing throughout the season.

Kevin's career in racing began seven years ago, but it wasn't until he teamed up with Achilles Motorsports four years ago at Watkins Glen International Speedway in Watkins Glen, New York that Kevin began to push his racing to the next level. It was then that Kevin set his sights on becoming the BMWCCA I-Prepared National Champion. His coaching and support from Achilles Motorsports over the next few years at various race tracks throughout the East Coast proved instrumental to his success, but the success did not coming easily.

After being well on his way to reaching his goals last year Kevin was the victim of very unfortunate circumstances. His trailer was caught in a flood forcing him to have to rebuild the car. This took him out of contention for the 2013 title, but it also ignited a fire that drove him to work even harder the following year.

Kevin shared his reflection this season with us,
"The journey with Achilles Motorsports started well before the season. Mino, Frank, and Mark (crew chief) at Achilles were a big help in the planning and preparation of the car to keep it reliable, fast, and consistent throughout the season. Once we knew the car was well prepared, we kicked off the year with personal coaching with VJ [Mirzayan] that continued throughout the season. The season opener set the tone for what was a successful season to included 12 wins and 6 second place podium finishes across 6 different tracks. The Achilles Motorsports M3 ran up front all season and allowed us to capitalize on many successes. I can’t thank the team at Achilles Motorsports enough for their advice, expertise, and service. The season would not have been such a success without their help."

We are pleased to have Kevin Ogrodnik as part of our Achilles Motorsports family, on behalf of the entire team, Congratulations Kevin, and keep up the outstanding work!
