Product Details
The Ireland Engineering stainless steel strut brace fits well and is very rigid yet lightweight. It has NO joints or swivels. Installation requires drilling of two 8mm holes for best strength (beware of flimsy aluminum bars from others - most are not rigid enough to work properly).Standard finish is powder coated black, polished stainless available as no cost option.

The BMW factory published body specification shows the distance between the strut towers should be 1002.2mm +/-2mm (39.5"), measured from center to center at the strut bearing opening in the inner fenders. The bar is 1002.2mm, the published spec. However; Ireland Engineering has found many cars (ranged across all years and models) can vary, depending on wear to the shock towers over time and imprecise manufacturing tolerances during the car's production. There is no published factory documentation of any difference in the body dimensions. We suggest you measure to ensure our brace will work without modification.

Strut Bar requires some work to make fit! June 1, 2017
Reviewer: Leo from California
This strut brace is lightweight, strong, and does improve rigidity to front end.  I like the outcome when driving.  However, it did rub on the intake once I tightened it down.  So be prepared to either modify the cross bar a bit or add some custom washers to the mounting areas to get a few mm of clearance.  Also, the third bolt hole is drilled very close to the cross bar weld, so a nut will not lie flat there.  Seems an odd bit of design since there is plenty of room to put the bolt hole over a few mm to ensure a flat fit.  Overall, a few mm of design changes would make this bar fit stock e30s perfect.  Oh, and I measured my strut tower distance and its SPOT ON to OEM, so its not my car, its the IE Bar!
