Applications & Uses

280/272 - The 280/272 cams are street performance cams which can also be used on the track. Great for those who don't want to upgrade to high performance valve springs.(Schrick DLC Rocker Arms are recommended for cars that are tracked heavily or raced)
288/280 - The 288/280 cams are the perfect upgrade for the track or race cars that use the factory ecu and VANOS. They will generate the most horsepower and torque without the added stress to other components. (An ECU tune is required.)
- They also give great results when used in high performance and race engines that are running on a standalone engine management system (ie. Motec, EFI, Bosch etc.)and also when the factory VANOS system is eliminated.
304/296 - The 304/296 are strictly used for race engines. These cams require a full race valvetain setup and Schrick DLC rocker arms. VANOS must also be eliminated.
High Lift Cams - The 288/280 and 304/296 cams are also available in a 14mm High Lift for those who are looking to maximum power gains. Must be used with custom pistons because the factory pistons will not have enough piston to valve clearance. These must also be used with our Achilles Motorsports S54 Valve Spring Kit made specifically for 14mm high lift cams.

Tech Note

As recommended by Schrick all new cams installations require new rocker arms/followers to be used to avoid damage to cams.
- 280/272 - OEM or Schrick DLC are ok for street use. For cars that see heavy track use or racing Schrick DLC Rocker Arms are stongly recommended.
- 288/280 and higher duration cams - Schrick DLC Rocker Arms are required.
+1mm Oversized Valves cannot be used in conjunction with VANOS.
