The rear shock towers on BMW's are notoriously weak and are known to fail. This is usually evident by a loud clunking noise coming from the rear of the car. If this has already happened to you, then you are aware of the costly repairs it can require. The best way to prevent this from happening in the first place is to simply bolt this plate in place and carry on worry free. Achilles Motorsports rear shock tower reinforcement plates are over engineered to extend the the inner most part of the strut tower. NO WELDING REQUIRED! This makes it easy to incorporate into a roll cage later on down the road or build your own rear strut tower brace. Laser CNC cut from 3.0mm (.117") thick steel.

As BMW gets older we found out that they start to crack the sub-frame mounting points of the chassis. The solution to this problem is to remove the sub-frame and reinforce the chassis with our reinforcement kit made from .072"(1.85mm) steel. It will bring your BMW to better that new like conditions and will prevent any dangerous and costly chassis wear.

We recommend this kit for all track driven cars and for those that have developed stress cracks in the chassis.

One of the weak points in the E36's rear suspension is the design of the area surrounding the Rear Trailing Arm Bushings or RTAB as they are commonly referred to. The metal the RTAB pocket bolts to can fatigue and begin to crack. If you are a spirited driver it is highly recommended to install these rear trailing arm pocket plates to prevent the weak factory mounting location from ripping itself out. This is an absolute must for anyone with upgraded bushing or suspension! Laser CNC cut from .112" steel.

Transmission Mounts are available in two options:
  • Two Solid
  • One Adjustable -just as strong as having both solid but makes installation 100x easier due to eliminating guess work of stacking shims to properly align the motor and transmission.
Achilles Motorsports Motor Mounts are CAD designed and CNC machined in USA from 6061-T6 heat treated aluminum. When used, they will prevent unnecessary moving or flexing of the engine limiting unnecessary and costly movements often associated with sloppy rubber stock type mounts and even performance mounts during race conditions.
What makes Achilles Motorsports motor mounts so overbuilt is the fact that we use custom made studs with over 22mm of threads engaging inside the mount unlike others that have a tendency to pull out due to only having a few millimeters of thread engagement.
Tech Tips
  • For a more simple installation of solid engine and transmission mounts we found making 1 transmission mount adjustable alleviates the need for shim stacking to align the drivetrain properly.
  • We strongly recommend upgrading the front sub-frame with our reinforcement kit in order to prevent the cracking of the sub-frame due to the added vibrations and harmonics associated with this type of motor mount.

These solid aluminium subframe mounts replace the factory rubber bushings which twist and flex under loads allowing the rest of your rear suspension geometry to constantly change because they are also mounted to the subframe.
Switching to solid aluminum subframe mounts is great for track and race applications because it helps maintain the proper rear alignments by eliminating the movement of the subframe.

The Achilles Motorsports Oil Pan Baffle for the E34 Oil pan engines was designed and manufactured to be used on racing, high performance track and street driven cars. Each baffle is precision laser cut from .090" heat treated aluminum then hand assembled and test fit to ensure accuracy and the easy of installation. Our baffle design incorporates dual trap doors to prevent oil from splashing out of the sump under hard acceleration and cornering. This helps minimizes sloshing of the oil inside the oil pan and keeps the oil accumulated around your pickup tube. A must have addition to any vehicle used on the race track, for autocross, or any spirited or high performance use!

The factory BMW oil pan doesn't do a very good job of keeping oil accumulated around the oil pick up tube in high g-force situations. By keeping oil accumulated around the pickup tube you can eliminate the costly loss of oil pressure and potential damage to other vital engine parts commonly caused by the high g-forces, hard acceleration, braking and high speed cornering.

Tech Notes
  • When transplanting a 24 valve motor into an E30 this oil pan baffle can be used in conjunction with a BMW E34 525 (M50 Engine) oil pan and suction tube to relocate the oil sump to the front in order to clear the E30's front subframe. We highly recommend to upgrade the shaft in the oil pump to one of our Achilles Motorsports Upgraded Oil Pump Shaft kits to eliminate the common problems & failure associated with the M5X/S5X family oil pumps.
  • When transplanting an S54 Engine or Euro S50 you must convert the engine to an M50 single pickup style oil pump and use the E34 525 (M50 Engine) oil pan and suction tube. This eliminates the need to modify your subframe or oil pan. We highly recommend to upgrade the shaft in the oil pump to one of our Achilles Motorsports Upgraded Oil Pump Shaft kits for Retorifitted Cars to eliminate the common problems & failure associated with the M5X/S5X family oil pumps.
